Walking / Gardening

If lockdown has taught us one thing it is the importance of getting outside and enjoying nature. Gardens and gardening make us feel better- that’s a fact – and the real magic is that anyone, anywhere can enjoy their healing power. Well, OK, of course it won’t cure dementia, no-one is saying that, but it can relieve stress and be a wonderful calming influence. So at Together Dementia Support we have been decorating pots and planting up bulbs of hyacinths either as presents or just to be enjoyed by the maker. We also run a weekly Walk and Talk group for members and another one for Carers to give them the opportunity to get outdoors and to share time with others in a similar position.

We are hoping that once spring arrives we will be able to resume some of our gardening projects that were planned before Covid struck and so had to be put on hold. Watch this space (maybe literally!)
