Your business can help Together Dementia Support enable people to live better together with dementia

Local businesses have provided invaluable support for TDS over the years. We have a range of opportunities for businesses and their employees to get involved with our charity, enabling us to support local people affected by dementia and our corporate partners to meet their social responsiblity aims or just support their local community.

We are grateful to all of our local business supporters, and can show our gratitude with employee training, thank yous in our newsletter, on our website, and on social media, and corporate volunteering opportunities.

Our
Story

Get to Know Us

At Together Dementia Support, we believe that there can be many meaningful days beyond diagnosis, and that fun and friendship are vital in coping with the impact of dementia on a whole family. But to live well with dementia, alongside the medication and appointments, the support of experts like us, and the wider community is essential. If your business would like to join in and help out, we would love to hear from you.

Our founder and CEO, Sally Ferris, set up TDS in Manchester to fill an enormous gap in holistic support for people living with dementia and family carers. By 2025 it is predicted that 1 million people across the UK will have some form of dementia, and all of us will know or work with someone who is impacted by it or have said farewell to a colleague who’s had to give up work to be a carer.

We are the leading dementia support charity in Manchester, with 10 years’ experience of promoting the needs of people living with dementia, and also providing activities, advice, support and solidarity to families facing the many challenges that the dementia journey brings. We are rooted in local communities and we shape our work by listening to people living with dementia, their carers, and health and social care professionals. Our members tell us that our highly personalised approach to designing support for families earns their trust, and has a big impact.

We would love to talk to you about our services, our ambitions, and how we can work together to make a difference for people with dementia. We can offer opportunities to take part in fundraising challenges; dementia awareness training; bespoke volunteering; and co-design charity of the year programmes.

Make us your
Charity of the Year

More and more businesses recognise the imortance of linking with local charities. By choosing a Charity of Year, you can fulfil your social responsilbility aims and enhance your reputation as a business that cares about your community.

How can your business support employees affected by dementia?

We are inviting Manchester businesses to join us for Together we are Strong – our vibrant and musical Showcase celebrating the 10th birthday of Manchester’s number one dementia services provider, Together Dementia Support.

At this free afternoon event, we’ll be discussing how local employers can help support their employees with caring responsibilities, particularly when caring for someone who is living with dementia. There’ll be uplifting performances from our two Dementia Choirs, and Dr Ross Dunne from the Brain Health Clinic will be talking all things brain health, dementia prevention, and the latest research in field.

You can expect music, joy and inspriation as our members living with dementia and family carers share their experiences.
